MARSHFIELD, Wis. – Marshfield Clinic is proud to announce a $100,000 funding initiative aimed at supporting community-driven solutions that improve behavioral health outcomes, expand access to care, reduce stigma and strengthen overall community well-being across Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The program, offered through Marshfield Clinic’s Caring for Communities initiative, reflects a commitment to building healthier, more resilient communities.

The program invites tax-exempt and government agencies serving communities within Marshfield Clinic’s service area to apply for grants of up to $20,000. These funds are intended to support projects that promote mental well-being, prevent and address substance use, support recovery, foster social connectedness, build youth resilience, and increase access to behavioral health resources and services.

Behavioral health challenges continue to affect communities across Wisconsin and Michigan. Suicide remains one of the leading causes of death among young people, and many individuals face barriers accessing timely mental health and substance use services. Rural communities are particularly impacted by workforce shortages, transportation challenges and limited availability of behavioral health resources. By investing in local organizations that understand the unique needs of their communities, Marshfield Clinic hopes to foster sustainable solutions that make a meaningful impact.

“Behavioral health is fundamental to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Through this funding opportunity, we are investing in local organizations that understand the unique challenges and strengths of the communities they serve,” said Jay Shrader, senior director, Community Relations and Market Strategy. “By supporting innovative, community-driven solutions, we hope to expand access to care, reduce stigma, and help build healthier, more resilient communities across Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.”

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Dec. 7, and selected awardees are anticipated to be notified the week of Jan. 4, 2027.
