Kila LeGrand named Sanford Aberdeen executive director

— Kila LeGrand, director of nursing and clinical services at Sanford Aberdeen, has been named the new executive director for Sanford Aberdeen. In her new role, Kila will continue to grow and enhance service lines in the Aberdeen area while keeping a strong focus on Sanford’s commitment to patient care in northeast South Dakota.

“I am excited to take on this opportunity to lead Sanford Aberdeen and build on the already outstanding patient care and services we offer in northeast South Dakota,” LeGrand said. “The investment Sanford has made in northeast South Dakota is a true testament to the care we provide patients in Aberdeen and surrounding rural communities.”

A native of Timber Lake, South Dakota, LeGrand graduated from Presentation College in Aberdeen with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She later attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion where she received her master’s degree in business administration.

LeGrand started her career at Sanford Health in 2011 as the director of surgery and transitioned to her current role as director of nursing and clinical services in 2015. She was awarded the 2021 South Dakota Organization of Nurse Leaders Leadership Award for outstanding commitment, professionalism, and leadership. She is also a graduate of the 2020 Leadership Aberdeen class.
