SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Sanford Health Plan leaders are joining CEOs, CFOs and executives from top hospitals and health systems across the country next week in Chicago for an exclusive, world-class event to address the most pressing issues in health care today.

John Snyder, president and chief executive officer of Sanford Health Plan, Emily Griese, Ph. D., chief operating and population health officer and Brian Maude, chief financial officer, are featured panelists at the annual Becker’s CEO + CFO Roundtable.

Snyder is taking part in a semi-keynote panel entitled, Cultural Makeover: How the Best CEOs Make a Big Difference. He will be joined by Nick Stefanizzi, chief executive officer for Northwell Direct, Paul Barach, M.D., MPH, senior advisor to Dean at Thomas Jefferson University and Chanda Chacón, MPH, FACHE, president and chief executive officer at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center. The panel will be moderated by Scott Becker, J.D., founder of Becker’s Healthcare and partner at McGuire Woods LLC.

“Improving culture and resilience in a health care organization is not a one-and-done conversation or initiative; it is a marathon that never ends,” said Snyder. “We need to continue to listen to what matters the most to our people and be deliberate about ensuring that our organization’s values are reflected in our policies and employee experience initiatives.”

Griese is taking part in a panel entitled, Can Health Systems Have Value and Volume? She will be joined by Armando Llechu, chief of hospital operations for Lee Health and Steven R. Carson, MHA, BSN, RN, senior vice president of population health at Temple University Health System. The panel will be moderated by Mackenzie Bean, AVP and managing editor for Becker’s Healthcare.

“By taking a creative approach to identifying and engaging members, we have been able to break down barriers to care, reach across rural areas, and engage members in their health care journey by connecting them with primary care providers,” said Griese. “We benefit our communities by offering affordable health care and insurance, driving the industry shift toward value-based payment, and improving the overall health of the populations we serve.”

Maude is taking part in a panel entitled, CFO Spotlight: Balancing Defensive and Offensive Strategy to Win. He will be joined by Michele Forgues Lackie, chief financial officer at UW Medicine Valley Medical Center, Matthew Swafford, chief financial officer at St. Charles Health System and John P. Mordach, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Health and Jefferson Health Plans.
