Edith Sanford Breast Center Fargo earns excellence honor

FARGO, N.D., Aug. 31, 2021 – Edith Sanford Breast Center at Sanford Health Fargo was recently recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence in the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program™ (NQMBC™).

This honor is given to breast centers that provide the highest level of quality breast health care to patients in their community. This certification is valid for one year.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious certification by the NQMBC™,” said Dr. Michael Bouton, surgeon and medical director at Edith Sanford Breast Center in Fargo. “This is a true testament to our staff who go above and beyond for our patients. Our patients and the quality of health care they receive is our number one priority.”

The Edith Sanford Breast Center Fargo offers screenings and diagnosis, using various techniques such as 3D mammograms, breast MRI, breast ultrasound and contrast enhanced spectral mammography (CESM). If treatment is needed, Edith Sanford Breast Center Fargo offers a wide range of services that fits your needs such as medical oncology, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, breast cancer surgery and breast reconstruction.

The Edith Sanford Breast Specialty Clinic, located inside the Edith Sanford Breast Center Fargo, offers comprehensive screenings, diagnostic work-ups and treatments for breast conditions. The specialty clinic provides care for women who have a high risk of breast cancer or have already been diagnosed.

The National Consortium of Breast Centers™ promotes excellence in breast health care for the general public through a network of diverse professionals dedicated to the active exchange of ideas and resources. It serves as an informational resource and provides support services to those rendering care to people with breast diseases through educational programs, newsletters, a national director and patient forums. It encourages professionals to concentrate and specialize in activities related to breast disease and encourages the development of programs and centers that address breast disease and promote breast health. It facilitates collaborative research opportunities on issues of breast health and developed a set of core measures to define, improve and sustain quality standards in breast health care programs and for quality performance in all types of breast health care facilities.
