THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – Sanford Thief River Falls physician Sarah Hamad, MD, has achieved board certification in lifestyle medicine.
Lifestyle medicine is a medical approach that uses healthy lifestyle habits to prevent, treat and sometimes reverse chronic conditions. Some examples of lifestyle medicine treatment options include:
• Whole food plant-predominant nutrition
• Positive social connection
• Avoidance of risky substances
• Stress management
• Restorative sleep
• Regular physical activity
Dr. Hamad is also board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a Blue Zones certified physician, which signifies expertise in applying longevity principles such as plan-forward diets, natural movement and stress reduction to clinical care.
