Dr. Cory Hewitt joins Sanford Black Hills orthopedic team

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Dr. Cory Hewitt, a native of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, has joined the Sanford Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center, caring for patients with knee and hip arthritis as well as fractures of the upper and lower extremities. Dr. Hewitt also performs surgery at Black Hills Surgical Hospital.
Dr. Hewitt treats a variety of conditions, including:
- Arthritis in the hip or knee
- Broken bones around a hip or knee replacement
- Broken bones of the arms and legs
- Complications from hip or knee replacement surgery
- Infections related to hip or knee replacements
- Hip fractures
- Hip or knee pain
He also provides the following services:
- Direct anterior hip replacement
- Fracture repair
- Hip and knee replacement
- Hip fracture treatment
- Nonsurgical fracture treatment
- Partial knee replacement
- Revision hip and knee replacement
- Robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement
“Whether restoring mobility after a joint replacement or managing complex trauma, my priority is to help patients safely return to the activities they love with precise and lasting results,” Dr. Hewitt said. “I believe that true success in orthopedic care goes beyond treating an injury or condition and focuses on helping patients regain function and improve their quality of life.”
Dr. Hewitt received his undergraduate and medical school degrees at the University of South Dakota, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Connecticut and a fellowship in adult reconstructive orthopedics and trauma at the University of Minnesota / Regions Hospital.
