SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Midwest Communications in Sioux Falls was recognized as the 2022 English Media Partner of the Year by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The media company earned this recognition during an annual meeting in Florida last month.

Chris Carter and Doc Murphy from Big Country 92.5 accepted the award on behalf of Midwest Communications in Orlando. The company earned this honor because they hosted two radiothons in 2021, along with a Request-A-Thon in 2020, to support Sanford Children’s Hospital during the pandemic.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals recognized several partners with various awards who have made an impact in the network. These awards are given to organizations that have shown a commitment to CMN hospitals through fundraising and awareness.

“We can’t inspire philanthropy to enhance the care for some of our youngest and smallest patients without our partners. This national award for Midwest Communications just gives confirmation that we have the best supporters,” said Erin Sanderson, executive director of Sanford Health Foundation in Sioux Falls. “We are thankful for the fundraising and awareness efforts Midwest Communications has made over the years. They care just as much as the Sanford Health Foundation does about making a lasting impact on the lives of children and their families.”

Midwest Communications in Sioux Falls includes radio stations like Big Country 92.5 KTWB, Kelo-FM 101.9, Q95.7, and KRRO 103.7.
