SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sanford USD Medical Center has been named to the Becker’s Healthcare list of “Great Hospitals in America.” The Sioux Falls medical center is the only hospital in the state of South Dakota to be named to the list.
Sanford shares the list of 100 great hospitals with health care systems of high caliber across the country, including Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Mayo Clinic.
“This recognition is truly a team effort, said Andy Munce, president and CEO of Sanford Health in Sioux Falls. While we have had several architectural improvements at our medical center campus, the core of our success comes down to the providers, nurses, therapists and all our critically important frontline health care workers.”
Sanford Medical Center Fargo was also named to the list, the only health care system in North Dakota to make the list.
The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on analysis of ranking and award agencies, including U.S. News & World Report’s rankings, Healthgrades, CMS star ratings and The Leapfrog Group safety grades.
