SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sanford Health has implemented new intelligent automation technology in its molecular laboratory that is poised to expand testing capabilities and maximize efficiencies.
Molecular Process Optimization is a new intelligent automation solution designed by Roche Diagnostics that utilizes both new equipment and a software solution for test automation. Sanford Health is the first health system in the country to apply the state-of-the-art technology into its molecular laboratory.
The advanced instruments aim to achieve a balance of efficiency, turnaround time, and cost-effectiveness, ultimately creating a positive impact on patient care helping providers when it comes to timely decisions on treatment options.
“We are excited about the collaboration with Roche Diagnostics and the enhancements to Sanford Laboratories because of how it will elevate patient care,” said Rochelle Odenbrett, vice president of Sanford Laboratories. “A more efficient and streamlined laboratory is an important benefit when it comes providing results to our patients.”
The technology will also give Sanford Laboratories the opportunity to expand its range of available tests while also improving testing capabilities for vulnerable populations, such as transplant patients, to ensure that comprehensive care is accessible to all patients.
