Sanford Health to sponsor floor of Washington Pavilion

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Washington Pavilion, in partnership with sponsor Sanford Health, on Friday will announce plans and visual concepts for Health Quest by Sanford, an entire floor of all new exhibits focused on health and wellness in the Kirby Science Discovery Center.

The interactive exhibits are themed in health sciences and wellness, allowing patrons to learn about and explore topics such as anatomy, research, genetics, emergency care and medical occupations. The floor will have a dedicated infant and toddler space, designed to encourage movement and providing visual, auditory, cognitive and tactile stimulation. The new Health Quest exhibitions will complement the Fit Zone, also on the fourth floor of the Kirby Science Discovery Center and sponsored by Sanford Health.

“Sanford Health believes in investing in education in the communities we serve,” said Stacy Wrightsman, director of public affairs for Sanford Health. “Expanding our relationship with the Washington Pavilion is a great way to inspire children to learn more about health and wellness.”

Renovations and construction of the science center will begin in late February and continue through April. The exhibits are being produced by M. Catton and Co, LLC. The new Health Quest by Sanford exhibition is expected to open in early May.

The Washington Pavilion is the region’s home for the arts, entertainment and science. Located in a beautifully renovated historic building in downtown Sioux Falls, it is one of only a few facilities in the world to bring together under one roof the performing arts, visual arts and interactive science.
