The Neonatal Research Network is the nation’s largest team of doctors, nurses and researchers performing clinical research for critically ill newborns admitted to neonatal intensive care units. There are only 15 sites selected to participate in the Neonatal Research Network. Sanford Health participates with the University of Iowa as the network’s Upper Midwest regional center.
As a participating hospital, neonatal experts at Sanford Health help develop and participate in groundbreaking clinical studies that determine the best practices and standard of care within the neonatal specialty. These advanced clinical studies are then made available to the patients at the Boekelheide Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Sanford Children’s in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
“A Better You” guests Laurie Hogden, M.D., a Sanford Health neonatologist, and Jennifer Klawitter, a registered nurse at Sanford Health, speak to how the Neonatal Research Network is important from two different perspectives.
