Sanford Health to open downtown Sioux Falls clinic

Sanford Health will open a walk-in acute care clinic inside the future Lewis Drug store in downtown Sioux Falls at 10th Street and Phillips Avenue.

The clinic, which is scheduled to open next spring, will be open Monday-Saturday with day, evening and weekend hours and offer patients the ability to see a provider on the same day without an appointment.

“This clinic will be a convenience for those living and working in downtown Sioux Falls,” said Paul Hanson, executive vice president of Sanford Health. “We recognize that downtown continues to grow, and it’s vital that our patients have easy access to care without having to travel out of their neighborhood.”

Downtown Sioux Falls has more than 2,300 residents, and more than 15,000 people work there daily.

The new downtown location is the seventh site that offers the combination of Sanford Health clinical services and a Lewis Drug Pharmacy in one location.

“Sanford Health is proud to work with our friends at Lewis Drug to bring these important health care services to downtown Sioux Falls,” said Hanson.

“To share the new space with our good friends at Sanford Health brings a whole new level of convenient healthcare to downtown Sioux Falls,” added Mark Griffin, president and CEO of Lewis.

The second level of the building will provide a 6,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor addition to the adjacent PAve Bar and Restaurant.

“Everyone involved in the project  has been focused on honoring the history of the site while keeping pace with the progress of downtown Sioux Falls,” said Nikki Griffin, corporate vice president of Lewis Drug. “We’re proud to work with great partners on this project and aspire to create a space that celebrates the strength of our community and the continued growth of downtown.”

Construction on the project has already started.
