Organ donation is an important medical topic but often a hard one to discuss with loved ones. April is Donate Life month and a time to raise the profile of organ donation and the role it can have in saving lives.
In this program, Thavam Thambi-Pillai, M.D., surgical director of Sanford Transplant Center, discusses what it means to be an organ donor and how begin the conversation on this topic. He also shares facts about great successes of organ transplantation along with helping to dispel some common myths about kidney donation.
